CONFIRMED! Man United willing to offer £85m Brazilian forward for Real Sociedad superstar attacker who Xavi called ‘World class’

Manchester United are interested in signing Real Sociedad attacker Takefusa Kubo and are willing to offer Antony to facilitate a deal for him, according to the Sun.

The Brazilian has failed to impress since joining the Red Devils from Ajax for £85 million last summer, with no goals or assists to his name in 18 games across all competitions this term.

Man United manager Erik ten Hag is eyeing a replacement and has sent scouts to watch Kubo on at least seven occasions this term.

The 22-year-old Japan international was also watched by the Red Devils during the goalless draw with Real Betis on Sunday where he was named Player of the Match.

Man Utd will continue to monitor the progress of the La Masia graduate who moved to Real Madrid in 2019 before leaving for Sociedad last summer following loan spells at Mallorca, Villarreal and Getafe.

Kubo has created 31 chances, bagged six goals and assisted another three in 16 league games so far this term after ending last term with nine goals and four assists in 35 league games, and Barcelona manager Xavi was impressed when both clubs met recently, dubbing the Japanese a ‘world-class’ player.

Man United could do with such a talented attacker given his versatility and impact in the final third.

He has a contract until 2027 with the La Liga club, but they would accept a fee in the region of £43m, and the Red Devils could offer Antony on loan as part of an agreement to sign him.

Man United will not be the only suitors keeping tabs on Kubo, and while they are a big club, they will need to be playing in the Champions League next term to have a chance of luring him to Old Trafford.

The attacker knows he has what it takes to play for the bigwigs across Europe, with Napoli offering £26m in the summer for his services, and he will not be short of top suitors at the end of the campaign
