Bruno Fernandes sends heartfelt farewell as Man United transfer agreed

Bruno Fernandes has sent a heartfelt message to Donny van de Beek following the confirmation of his departure from Manchester United.

The Dutch midfielder, who spent £35 million to join the Red Devils from Ajax in 2020, had a difficult time establishing an impression at Old Trafford, appearing in just 62 games across a dismal four-year stay.

The departure of Van van Beek is United’s first significant summer departure as they prepare to let go of other players like Mason Greenwood under the new management of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, sporting director Dan Ashworth, and technical director Jason Wilcox.

The 27-year-old, who spent time on loan at Everton and Eintracht Frankfurt, is about to finalize his transfer to Girona of La Liga. The alleged £420,000 transfer transaction has the potential to increase to £12.7 million.

Portuguese ace Fernandes, who arrived at United just before Van de Beek, shared a touching message with his former teammate. “You deserve the best,” he wrote, accompanied by a red heart emoji.

Van de Beek also took to Instagram to express his feelings about leaving the club, despite his on-pitch struggles, he seemed to have enjoyed his time off the pitch.

He penned: “Dear Manchester United family. Today is a memorable day as my adventure at the club comes to an end. I want to thank you all for your support throughout the years.”

The Dutch midfielder expressed his heartfelt thanks in a touching message, saying:

“From the moment we arrived at Manchester United, we felt extremely welcome and we are grateful for that. Thank you to everyone at the club for making us feel at home. A special thanks to all the fans that made these years unforgettable.”
