Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is under pressure following the club’s early exit from Europe, and it seems as though Sir Jim Ratcliffe is now considering all his options

After being humbled 3-0 by Bournemouth in their own backyard last weekend, Erik ten Hag’s exited Europe with a whimper on Tuesday night at the hands of Bayern Munich.

And unfortunately for the Dutchman, such a pitiful Champions League campaign will only increase the pressure on him.

Quite frankly, the last thing Ten Hag and United need right now is a trip to Liverpool; particularly given their arch-rivals seem to be back to their best after a summer rebuild.

Ratcliffe changes his mind on Ten Hag
Despite previous reports claiming that Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s imminent arrival at Manchester United would pose no risk to Erik ten Hag’s job, it now appears as though the Ineos chief could make a change.

Ratcliffe, who is still waiting for his £1.25billion deal for a minority stake in the club to be ratified, has met with former Chelsea manager Graham Potter and is known to be a long-term admirer of the highly-rated English coach.

And with the pressure building on Ten Hag following United’s sobering Champions League exit, Ratcliffe may change his stance on keeping the former Ajax chief at the helm if results in the Premier League don’t pick up soon.

Borussia Dortmund have insisted there have been no discussions regarding a swap deal involving Jadon Sancho

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has rubbished claims that the Bundesliga outfit and Manchester United have met to discuss a swap deal involving Jadon Sancho and Donyell Malen.

Sancho made his name in Germany with Dortmund before joining United in the summer of 2021 but has been completely frozen out after a public falling out with Erik ten Hag. As a result, the England winger is expected to move on in the January transfer window.

A return to Dortmund has been mooted in recent weeks amid speculation that Malen could move in the opposite direction. However, Kehl has now clarified things: there have been no meetings between the clubs over such a deal
