Ruben Amorim has a decision to make in defence as Manchester United look to see off Athletic Club and confirm their spot in the Europa League final

Asked for an update after the match, Amorim said: “I don’t know. We will see. I hope it’s nothing serious … I’m really concerned. Not about Thursday – we took off Luke Shaw at half-time to protect and have players for Thursday – but I’m more concerned whether it is a small or big injury and thinking about next season.”

In De Ligt’s expected absence, Victor Lindelof should come in and start alongside Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro. On the flanks, Shaw and Noussair Mazraoui are in line to start, while Patrick Dorgu is another option.
