Jon Robinson interviews for Jets’ vacant general manager job

The New York Jets announced their first two interview candidates for their vacant general manager position.

On Tuesday, the Jets (4-10) first said the team conducted an interview with former Atlanta Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff. A few hours later, Jon Robinson was the second update.

Robinson, 48, was the Tennessee Titans’ general manager from 2016 until he was fired late in 2022. Under his watch, Tennessee had a 66-43 overall record, made the postseason four times and won the AFC South title twice

After five seasons with the franchise, former general manager Joe Douglas was fired in New York on November 19. The Jets were 30-64 under Douglas’ tenure.

After letting Douglas go, New York announced that a group from the The 33rd Team, a football media, analytics and consulting media outlet would assist team owner Woody Johnson in their search for a new general manager and head coach. That group was founded by former Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum and ex-Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman.
