Jadon Sancho sends Chelsea message after Manchester United handed £25m transfer boost ahead of January transfer window -Reports
Following Chelsea’s impressive Premier League run, Jadon Sancho, a Manchester United loanee, shared a wordless message on social media.
Following a weekend of unexpected developments in the title battle, the 25-year-old played as Enzo Maresca’s team closed the gap on Premier League leaders Liverpool to two points.
One of the twists this weekend was largely down to United, as the reigning champions fell further behind following a late comeback heaped the misery on rivals Manchester City.
Sancho, who initially signed on a loan basis, has had a run of success with the first squad, making his fourth start in his past five games in the 2-1 victory over Brentford.
In the aftermath of the triumph, Sancho shared a post from teammate and former City youth product Cole Palmer. The 22-year-old posted: “1%,” with a fingers crossed and red heart emoji – with the United loanee replying with the same emoticon
The Manchester Evening News understands that Chelsea have an obligation to buy the England winger if they finish 14th or higher in the Premier League. Sunday’s triumph over their city rivals opened up a 16-point gap to 14th-placed West Ham with United said to pocket a fee in the region of £20million and £25million.
Sancho recently expressed his delight after his start to life at Stamford Bridge and admitted he feels supported in West London. He said: “We’re all kind of leaders, because we all have different attributes to help each other, but the leading voice is definitely the manager. The manager is the voice of the whole team and whatever he says goes. We all buy into that.
“He understands us and always gives us advice about what to do in our position and how to help each other out. All the players trust him and believe in him.
“It’s always nice to feel supported, but he’s played the game as well so has a lot to offer and give advice on, about what to do and not do.”
