Transfer news: Erik Ten Hag very happy as completed deal sparks fourth Man United signing; flight set to Manchester and medical done

An announced transfer will give a Manchester United move the final push it needs, with Erik ten Hag’s fourth major signing edging closer to arrival.

The Red Devils are on the hunt for a back-up goalkeeper for Andre Onana. Once signed, Dean Henderson will be given the greenlight to leave, with Crystal Palace currently leading Nottingham Forest in the chase.

Fabrizio Romano claimed Man Utd initially installed Benfica’s Odysseas Vlachodimos as their top target. However, when quoted a price tag of ‘at least £8.5m’ by Benfica president Rui Costa, United looked elsewhere.

Altay Bayindir is the player they turned to, with the Fenerbahce and Turkey international available for a slightly cheaper fee.

Reports in Turkey claimed an agreement worth around £6m (including add-ons) had been struck.

A whole host of clues the move is taking shape quickly followed, not least from Fenerbahce’s manager, Ismail Kartal.

On the back of his side’s thumping 5-1 Europa League victory over Twente on Thursday night, Kartal said when addressing the Bayindir speculation: “I would like to thank Altay for his services.

“He started a new adventure, and I wish him all the best.”

Bayindir was spotted at the Ataturk General Aviation Terminal on Friday ahead of reportedly flying to England. Sports Digitale claimed a medical has been booked and if passed, Bayindir will then sign his Man Utd contract.

Now, yet another clue Man Utd are primed to secure signing No 4 has emerged.

Fenerbahce have officially confirmed the arrival of Bayindir’s would-be replacement in the goalkeeping position via their official website.

The Turkish giant have unveiled Croatia international Dominik Livakovic who has joined by way of Dinamo Zagreb. Per Fabrizio Romano, Fenerbahce have paid €6.65m as a fixed fee and committed to a further €950k in add-ons.

With Fenerbahce landing their successor to Bayindir, nothing now stands in the way of his proposed move to Old Trafford
