The 10 players Sheikh Jassim wanted Man United to sign as takeover ‘nears completion’

Sheikh Jassim reportedly targeted 10 players as the Manchester United takeover is said to be completed soon.

Since November 2022, United have been put on sale by the Glazers and to date, a deal is yet to materialise.

It has been widely reported that Sheikh Jassim and British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe have been leading the race to buy the Old Trafford club.

On Wednesday, it was reported by The Sun that the Qatari banker is closing in on a deal to buy United for £6 billion and that the takeover could be completed by mid-October.

Back in May, it was reported that Sheikh Jassim had drawn up a list of 10 players he wanted United to sign.

According to El Pais, Sheikh Jassim wanted to plan one of the largest market assaults in the history of the sport.

However, as the takeover process dragged on, some of his original targets have now moved on.

For example, the Qatari was said to be interested in the likes of Harry Kane, Kim Min Jae, Alexis Mac Allister and Adrien Rabiot.

Kane and Kim have both subsequently signed for Bayern Munich whilst Mac Allister joined United’s arch-rivals Liverpool.

Although four targets have become unavailable, there are still six players who could be tempted by a move to Old Trafford.

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen was described as ‘phenomenal’ but the Italian club are set to ask for at least €100 million.

Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic is also said to be on Sheikh Jassim’s list and could be a cheaper alternative to Osimhen.

In addition, it has been claimed that Sheikh Jassim is a fan of Frenkie de Jong, Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, Kingsley Coman and Ronald Araujo.

So far in the 23/24 season, United have collected three points from two matches after winning against Wolves before losing to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Red Devils will be back in action this weekend as they take on Nottingham Forest on Saturday
