Manchester United could be set for a busy January transfer window based on some of the latest reports.
In less than two months, United will be allowed to expand their roster in preparation for the second half of the season.
Ruud van Nistelrooy is still serving as United’s interim manager and is getting the team ready for this weekend’s Premier League matchup against Chelsea.
The trip to Stamford Bridge will mark the end of Van Nistelrooy’s interim stint and United’s last game before the November international break.
Next Monday, Sporting Lisbon will be replaced as United’s new head coach by Ruben Amorim.
It’s unclear if United will add any more players to the roster in January after making five acquisitions during the summer transfer window.
Here, MEN Sport has taken a look at some of the latest United transfer news and gossip that has emerged over the last 24 hours.
United are being credited with an interest in signing Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane. The 28-year-old moved to the Bundesliga giants in 2020, leaving Manchester City in the process.
According to Sport Bild, United have expressed a desire to try and sign Sane at the end of the season when his contract is set to expire.
The report claims that United have already made an approach to try and sign Sane, who has also been linked with Arsenal in recent weeks.
It remains to be seen if Sane will put pen to paper on a new contract at Bayern over the weeks and months ahead.
The report claims that the Germany international will not make a decision on his future until he holds talks with Bayern.
Elsewhere, United are also supposedly interested in signing Sane’s teammate at Bayern Munich, Leon Goretzka.
According to Sky Germany, United are “closely monitoring” Goretzka and could make a move to sign the midfielder in the January transfer window.
The report claims that United want to sign a new midfielder and a striker in the Near Year, with Goretzka identified as a potential target.
However, United have been handed a blow with the update that Goretzka is not planning to leave the Allianz Arena in January
