Jadon Sancho makes Chelsea feelings clear as Man United already given £25m transfer ultimatum

Jadon Sancho has enjoyed an excellent vein of form since joining Chelsea from Manchester United on loan and has made his feelings clear following Chelsea’s clash against Brighton.

The 24-year-old winger, who signed a summer transfer loan from Manchester United, was instrumental in the Blues’ 4-2 victory at Stamford Bridge over the weekend, scoring an assist and winning a penalty.

Despite only playing 173 minutes, he has already contributed directly to a goal in each of his first three Premier League games for Chelsea.

On Saturday afternoon, following the final whistle, Sancho went out onto the field with his teammates to participate in a lap of honor.

‘Blue is the colour’ reverberated across the stadium as the England international thanked the home crowd for their backing.

Towards the end of the song, he approached Tosin Adarabioyo with a grin on his face and made an orchestra conductor gesture.

The former Fulham defender, who once regularly featured alongside the United loanee in the Manchester City academy, put his arm around Sancho as they headed back towards the tunnel.

After the game, the £25m-rated showman marked the victory with a celebratory post on Instagram.

Captioning a selection of match-action shots, which chalked up well over half a million likes, he wrote: “Special afternoon to make my first appearance at the bridge! +3 @colepalmer10 … no words needed [cold emoji]!”

Speaking to reporters after the game, Enzo Maresca reflected on his side’s performance. The Chelsea boss said: “In terms of the way we played on the ball, we scored four. We could have scored three or four more in the first half.

“And then the two goals we conceded, the first one is a mistake, a normal mistake. The second one is not about trying to play from behind. For me, it’s more about reading the moment. We were 1-0 down and then 3-1 up, in that moment we don’t need to take any risks. It’s more for them to take risks, not us.

“I said to Robert [Sanchez] and the players, ‘from now on, we are going to concede 10 more goals like the way we conceded the second goal’. It’s the way we want to play.

“We already scored goals with Robert involved in the build-up but it is important after the mistake, the team continue in the same way. It means they enjoy, they like and they see also that we win games.”

Chelsea signed Sancho from United on a season-long loan, which, football.london understands, includes an obligation-to-buy. The Blues were long admirers of the Englishman, who established himself as one of the most exciting young players in Europe during his time in the Manchester City youth setup.

He’s enjoyed a brilliant start to life back in London, and his strong feelings for the club come as no surprise. In an interview with the official Chelsea website, Sancho said: “London is where I grew up and I’m happy to be back.

“Chelsea is iconic. My idols growing up were Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard and now I have the opportunity to play for this club like them. It’s a great feeling.”
