Man United ‘make first move to sign EURO 2024 Dutch striker as massive agent demands revealed’
The young Dutch striker is of interest to AC Milan but United have made the strongest move yet
Manchester United have made their first move to sign striker Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna.
According to The Athletic, although club-to-club negotiations have not yet occurred, talks have with Zirkzee’s agent, Kia Joorabchian.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the ex-top agent is demanding €12 million (£10 million) in payment for authorizing any transaction.
Thought to be in the lead, AC Milan is still unlikely to accept Zirkzee’s €40 million (£34 million) release clause, particularly in light of Joorabcian’s demands.
Di Marzio continues, “There’s no sign that United will give in to what Bologna and Joorabcian want,” but the team has made the best move for the Netherlands international thus far.
After midfielders Teun Koopmeiners and Frenkie de Jong sustained injuries, Zirkzee was a last-minute addition to Ronald Koeman’s 26-man roster, and he is presently playing for the Netherlands at Euro 2024.
The 23-year-old began his career at Feyenoord, before a short spell with Bayern Munich. Loan spells with Parma and Anderlecht led to a €8.5m (£7.2m) move to Bologna in 2022.
