Liverpool and Manchester United are both being linked to Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, yet the London side’s stance is clear amid constant speculation.

Liverpool will be active players in the summer transfer window. Arne Slot will want to make at least a couple of signings in order to hit the ground running in his new job, and the mammoth task at hand of replacing Jürgen Klopp.

Slot, together with new sporting director Richard Hughes and the returning pair of Julian Ward and Michael Edwards, will no doubt have already met to strategize the club’s summer window.

There could be signings in midfield and in defense, but in terms of the front line, it remains to be seen whether there will be any changes.

Unless there is a departure from one of Liverpool’s forwards in the summer, with Luis Díaz being linked with Barcelona and Mohamed Salah still on the radar of the Saudi Pro League, adding another attacker would be a bonus rather than an absolute necessity.

Should one of the pair leave, Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise could be on the list of players who could sign. Olise had a superb second half of the season for Palace, ending the campaign with 10 goals in 19 games.

Despite suffering a number of injuries that curtailed the number of games he played, Olise emerged as one of the Premier League’s brightest prospects.

Liverpool has been linked with a move for the London-born striker, but faces competition for him in the shape of Manchester United.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, United considers Olise a ‘priority target’ this summer and the player would be keen on making the move. It is said that he was a boyhood fan of the Old Trafford side.

However, Palace doesn’t want to let the player go. And, with other star players such as Eberechi Eze, Jean-Philippe Mateta, and Marc Guehi also linked with moves away, Palace’s stance is that it’s ‘unthinkable’ to lose all four players in one window.
