BREAKING: Liverpool open talks with £40m ‘Brilliant’ Bundesliga star as he arrives in England to push transfer completion

Liverpool have been linked with a move for 21-year-old Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, whose agents they have contacted.

According to reputed journalist Melissa Reddy, Liverpool have spoken to the representatives of 21-year-old Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch regarding a move in the summer transfer window.

Gravenberch struggled for regular game time at Bayern Munich this past season, and the opportunity to leave the Bundesliga club could be an enticing prospect for him.

If Liverpool can provide him with game-time assurances, the midfielder is likely to be tempted to join them. The Reds have been linked with a move for him earlier this summer as well.

Liverpool need to add more quality and depth to their midfield, and Gravenberch would be a solid long-term edition.

However, Liverpool have already signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai this summer. Gravenberch might struggle for regular game time if the Reds persist with their three-midfielder formation.

The Reds should aim to sign a quality defensive midfielder instead. Fabinho has been linked with a move away from the club, and he could be heading to Saudi Arabia after a £40 million offer was submitted for him by Al Ittihad.

Meanwhile, club captain Jordan Henderson has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia as well after he agreed on a bumper contract with Al Ettifaq.

Liverpool have been linked with a number of midfielders this summer, and Gravenberch is not the only option on their shortlist. Players like Romeo Lavia, Sofyan Amrabat and Florentino Luis are all thought to be targets for the Reds.

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool decide to pursue a move for the Bayern Munich midfielder and sign him this summer. The 21-year-old is unlikely to get ample game time at the Bundesliga club next season and leaving them permanently would be ideal for all parties.

A fresh start could be ideal for him, and the 21-year-old could be a useful long-term option for a European club.

He was rated highly during his time in the Netherlands and has the potential to develop into a quality footballer for Liverpool in the coming seasons
