Liverpool transfer: ‘Medicals booked’ _Journalist confirms Jurgen Klopp moves for £100m premier league star to replace Fabinho and Henderson

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants to revamp his midfield after signing top internationals Alex Mac Allister from Brighton and Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig

Fabinho and Jordan Henderson are both wanted by Saudi clubs

Jurgen Klopp has already signed World Cup winner Alex Mac Allister from Brighton and Hungary captain Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig.

They are both midfielders, but that doesn’t mean Klopp won’t sign another midfielder before the summer is done.

In terms of departures, James Milner, Naby Keita, Roberto Firmino and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were among those to be released last month.

The Reds have also allowed the likes of Calvin Ramsay, Fabio Carvalho and Rhys Williams to depart on loan.

Liverpool fans are wondering who else will join the club this summer. Here are the latest transfer rumours from Merseyside…

Caicedo targeted
Liverpool are considering joining the race for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo, according to talkSPORT.

The Ecuador international, 21, is one of the most sought-after footballers in the Premier League following his breakthrough campaign at the Amex.

Chelsea are the favourites to sign Caicedo, who is valued at £100million by Brighton. Yet it’s believed Liverpool are interested in the talent, as Klopp continues to revamp his midfield. The German coach is thought to be after a defensive midfielder.

Southampton star Romeo Lavia is said to be at the top of Liverpool’s transfer shortlist, but Southampton are demanding £50m for the Belgium international. That is a lot of money for a 19-year-old who suffered relegation from the Premier League last season.

“I hope I can convince some people to stay who were 50-50 about it,” Southampton manager Russell Martin told BBC Radio Solent earlier this month. “I think there will be some players who we can’t avoid [losing] who will be back in the Premier League.”

Fabinho’s Saudi offer
Al-Ittihad want to sign Liverpool midfielder Fabinho, according to The Guardian. The Brazil international, 29, is the latest Premier League star to be courted by a Saudi club. The Reds have not received an offer for Fabinho, who has three years left on his contract.

Al-Ittihad won the Saudi Pro League title under Nuno Espirito Santo last season and are extremely wealthy after being taken over by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), which also owns a majority stake in Newcastle. The PIF is Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund.

Liverpool want £20m for Jordan Henderson, according to talkSPORT . The England international, 33, is believed to be considering joining Saudi club Al-Ettifaq, who are managed by Steven Gerrard, after being offered a £700,000-a-week contract.

If Liverpool lose Henderson or Fabinho, or perhaps even both, their need for a new central midfielder will increase. That is when they could swoop for Caicedo or Lavia
