However, The Mirror reports that Fernandes has ‘let it be known’ during discussions with West Ham’s hierarchy that he wants to join United this summer

The report adds that United are confident that they can agree personal terms with Fernandes, who wants to play Champions League football next season

However, United are not prepared to match West Ham’s £80 million asking price and are expected to submit a lower offer this week.
