Man Utd player ratings in outstanding Bournemouth Win with 8/10s and Rasmus Hojlund surprise performance as ‘best striker claim made’

Manchester United have made it two wins from two on their US tour after thrashing Bournemouth 4-1 with Rasmus Hojlund, Patrick Dorgu and Ethan Williams all on target

Rasmus Hojlund gave United an early lead with a clever header – a timely reminder of his talents as the Red Devils target a new striker – before Patrick Dorgu doubled the advantage.

Ruben Amorim held off until the 70th minute to make mass substitutions, by which time United were leading 3-0 thanks to Amad’s shot finding the bottom corner, possibly via a slight deflection off Hojlund

Ethan Williams was among the players introduced with 20 minutes remaining, and the young talent made an immediate impact, beating Will Dennis at his near post to extend the lead to 4-0. A late own goal from Matthijs de Ligt denied United a clean sheet. Amorim was left with plenty to think about as the summer transfer window rumbles on.

Leny Yoro
Once again assertive with the ball and enjoying the responsibility of supporting the attack. His passing game is improving. 7

Harry Maguire
Took a back seat as Yoro and Luke Shaw took the limelight, but Maguire is receiving some of the loudest cheers on United’s tour. Substituted at half-time. 6.

Luke Shaw
Made several good recovery tackles. Despite being trodden on and injured, he persevered and played for over an hour. 7.

Diogo Dalot

Frequently pushed forward but received an early telling-off from Hojlund for failing to keep the ball in play. Created little. 6.

Casemiro
An understated performance alongside Bruno Fernandes in midfield. Kept things steady while others led the attack. 7.

Bruno Fernandes
As lively as ever, he linked up well with Mason Mount as United’s No. 7 took on one of the two 10 roles. Distributed the ball smoothly. 7.

Patrick Dorgu
Delivered a perfect cross for Hojlund to put United 1-0 ahead, then scored himself following a quick dash into the final third. 8.

Amad

Pushed further forward and appeared a more robust forward. Held onto the ball well under pressure. Looked to have scored but it seemed to have hit Hojlund. 7.

Mason Mount
Displayed quick thinking with a swiftly taken free kick that allowed Dorgu to score, rounding off a solid performance from the playmaker. 7.

Rasmus Hojlund

Directed Dorgu’s header into the corner of the net in the fifth minute to secure that elusive first goal of pre-season. Seemed to get a second from Amad’s shot. 8.
