RECORD BREAKER: Jets Aaron Rodgers One TD Away From Major Milestone

Aaron Rodgers’ lone season as the starting quarterback for the New York Jets hasn’t gone as well as everyone had hoped, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t setting records still.

Rodgers is just a single touchdown pass away from the coveted 500 total mark throughout his legendary 20-year NFL career. Only Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Drew Brees have made that coveted club to this point in league history.

With two games remaining in the 2024 season, it seems almost like a lock that Rodgers will reach that mark. Even if that means setting it on the road Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. “It’s huge,” Jets interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said.

“It’s been one of my great honors in my life, not just football and this profession, to be around him, to learn from him, to grow from him, and it’s going to be so special to see that 500th ball caught, so excited for him and what it means to his legacy and all that Aaron Rodgers is.”

Rodgers did not become an everyday starting quarterback until his fourth season with the Green Bay Packers back in 2008 – making the 500 mark even more impressive with context included.

Bills With the Jets, Rodgers has thrown 24 touchdown passes to eight interceptions while completing just under 63% of his passes. He is just three touchdown passes away from recording the third most touchdowns in a single season in team history.

At 41 years old, the veteran quarterback has been secretive on whether he will return for a 21st season or simply retire after the 2024 campaign. Before making that decision, though, he has a chance to join a list that only four other players find themselves in.
