Breaking: Man United consider shock move for £30m Tottenham star midfielder with Postecoglou ‘willing to sell’

Manchester United are said to be considering a shock move for Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as Erik ten Hag looks to add to his squad.

With the end of the summer transfer window now in sight, things are expected to ramp up at Old Trafford in the coming days.

Ten Hag is still keen to add to his midfield options and the club are now said to be considering a deal for Hojbjerg.

Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat has been a target for Man Utd all summer, but the club are yet to agree a deal with the Italian club.

As Man Utd face competition for Amrabat’s signature, they won’t want to put all of their eggs into the same basket and so are also considering alternative deals.

According to The Telegraph, Hojbjerg is now a player of interest for Man Utd with Tottenham ‘willing to sell’ the midfielder this summer.

Atletico Madrid had a £30m deal agreed with Tottenham earlier in the window, but the deal collapsed as personal terms couldn’t be agreed upon.

While Gravenberch would be an exciting signing for Man Utd, he is a completely different player to someone like Hojbjerg.

The Tottenham midfielder is seen as a defensive-minded midfielder, whereas Gravenberch thrives in a more advanced position.

While discussing the Dutch midfielder, Thomas Tuchel described him as a more attack-minded player.

“I see him in an attacking position,” Tuchel told reporters. “When he was subbed on in pre-season games, he was very good and always had influence.

“But there’s a lot of competition there. I see his strengths under pressure from opponents and in dribbling. I’m very happy with the way he’s training. If he’s patient, he’ll get his chance.”

Hojbjerg would perhaps suit Man Utd’s needs more than Gravenberch at this time, although time will tell if they can strike an agreement with Tottenham
