7 duels, 100% tackles and 100% dribbles won – £35m-rated Man United star was outstanding vs Liverpool

Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo delivered an impressive performance during the 4-3 comeback win over Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-final.

The Red Devils made a statement on Sunday with a fantastic victory over their arch-rivals at Old Trafford. Amad Diallo stole the headlines with a dramatic late winner in extra time.

However, there were several other stand-out performers and in our opinion, Mainoo was brilliant from the number six role until his substitution in the 80th minute.

The youngster was unfortunate with a deflection for Alexis Mac Allister’s first-half equaliser but aside from that, the club graduate barely put a foot wrong in the game.

Mainoo was brilliant with his ball control from the centre of the park and he won an impressive seven ground duels while winning 100 per cent of his tackles (2/2).

The club graduate also completed 100 per cent of his dribbles (4/4) while making two interceptions.

Mainoo has shown maturity beyond his years since his breakthrough this season, and he looked comfortable in midfield until he was taken off by Erik ten Hag.

The €35m million-rated star obviously could have lasted for the entire 120 minutes, but Ten Hag made the right decision as the teenager’s workload needs to be handled carefully.

We have seen emerging stars such as Pedri suffer injury setbacks due to mismanagement over game time. Mainoo needs to be properly managed during his development. phase.
