“They’ve Made an offer” – Top Transfer expert says Man United are now looking to agreeing personal terms with outstanding Wolves forward
Manchester United will seek to reach personal terms with Matheus Cunha before season ends, offer made but nothing agreed yetby Alani8 May 2025
Manchester United will look to get personal terms in place with Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Matheus Cunha before his release clause becomes active at the end of the season, according to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein.
The Red Devils have already tabled an offer to the South American, but an agreement is yet to be reached between both parties.
Man United are believed to be certain of their chances of signing Cunha following talks, with the Brazilian keen on the move, but they cannot get a deal with Wolves done until the campaign finishes.
The finances are already in place for them to complete the deal, and failure to qualify for the Champions League next season will not affect them as the forward is willing to join them regardless of what happens in their bid to play continental football.
Signing the 25-year-old could be huge for Man United head coach Ruben Amorim as he has plans to deploy him as his number 10 given his versatility and effectiveness playing in the position for Wolves.
Cunha has 15 goals and six assists to his name in 30 Premier League games so far this season, and the Red Devils could do with his attacking and goalscoring qualities in the final third.
Man United are also expected to sign a number 9 alongside the Wolves star, and Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres has reportedly told Amorim he would consider joining him at the Theatre of Dreams only if he is guaranteed Champions League football.
Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap remains on their radar too, and bolstering their options in front of goal with two attackers could go a long way next term and going forward.
The quality of business done this summer will determine how Amorim fares in his first full season in charge, and the Portuguese and other decision-makers need to get it right for his sake and that of the club
