Mbappe could offer Marcus Rashford a shock and spectacular Man Utd escape route in the summer transfer window
Paris Saint-Germain are once again interested in signing Marcus Rashford, according to a report.
The threat of losing Kylian Mbappe has forced PSG to look at left-wingers ahead of the summer transfer window and this has led them back to Marcus Rashford, according to the inews.
The French giants were already keen on snapping up the Man Utd star before he penned his new contract in the summer and they are once again interested, it is claimed.
Rashford notched 30 goals last term but has struggled to recapture that form and has made headlines for all the wrong reasons this term.
The 26-year-old called in sick for the Red Devils’ recent FA Cup clash with Newport County after successive nights spent in a Belfast nightclub.
This led to head coach Erik ten Hag saying that he would deal with this “internal matter,” but little has come of it. While Jadon Sancho was exiled from the Man Utd squad for his ill-discipline in September, Rashford has not received any punishment despite this having been the second time in four months that the England star has missed work due to partying.
In the wake of the latest incident, speculation about Rashford’s future has abounded.
Indeed, there have been rumours that the winger could be offloaded, but according to the above-mentioned report, the Red Devils have no intention of cashing in on their academy star.
Nevertheless, PSG could offer him an escape route out of Manchester in the event of Kylian Mbappe’s departure.
The Frenchman, however, is currently said to be having doubts about leaving the French club.
Moreover, selling Rashford could free up yet more funds – in addition to Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s investment – which would allow Ten Hag and company to completely overhaul the Man Utd squad. However, signing the England star is presently not “top of the agenda” for PSG.
