Man Utd recieve £30m transfer boost as Crystal Palace star ‘makes final Man United decision’

Crystal Palace are putting Valencia centre-back Cristhian Mosquera on their list to replace Marc Guehi.

Mosquera, 19, is already a regular in LaLiga and catching the eye despite his club’s indifferent season.

The strong defender, who is also good on the ball, was checked out by Palace last week as they prepare for Guehi to move on for a huge fee.

The nine-cap Englishman, 23, is likely to leave the Eagles next summer, with Manchester United and Arsenal keen.

Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi has been widely linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks

Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi is reportedly not interested in leaving Selhurst Park this winter.

MEN Sport understands Erik ten Hag wants to add another centre-back into his squad to bolster options. To do this, United will likely need to sell one of their current defenders to make room for a new recruit.

One of the players who has been continuously linked with the Reds in recent weeks is Guehi. The England international has excelled for Roy Hodgson’s team and has earned himself plenty of admirers in the Premier League. It is understood Guehi does not want to make any move which could jeopardise his chances of making Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 squad.

If Guehi was to choose a switch to Old Trafford, the concern for the player is whether he would be an instant starter or if he will be asked to bide his time. Should the latter happen, Southgate may well look elsewhere towards defenders who are playing more regularly.

Elsewhere, according to Romanian publication Prosport, United have entered a battle with Newcastle United and Barcelona for Genoa defender Radu Dragusin. The 21-year-old centre-back has been ever present for the Serie A side this season and is well regarded at the Italian club.

After spending time at Juventus, Dragusin has blossomed away from the Turin club and is apparently earning admiring glances from some of Europe’s biggest clubs. While the Romanian is under contract until 2027, the defender does have a €30m release clause inserted into his contract.

It is thought this news has been enough for the Reds to send an initial enquiry to Genoa in regards his availability as Ten Hag continues his attempts to lower the overall age of the United squad
