Man United prepared to pay £46.4m asking price to sign Uruguayan international and PSG star this summer

Manchester United are keen to sign Manuel Ugarte for quite some time now but talks have died down in recent days regarding the PSG midfielder.

The Red Devils refused to pay the £59 million that the European powerhouses demanded in order to part ways with the Uruguayan international.

Since then, not much has happened on this front as it appeared that Man Utd was concentrating their energies on other goals.

The Red Devils still have Ugarte on their want list, but the English team is unwilling to give in to PSG in talks.

But now is the time for things to change. PSG is reportedly getting close to acquiring Benfica sensation Joao Neves for their midfield, according to a report from Caught Offside.

The reigning Ligue 1 winners will need to make space for this costly addition and are prepared to lower Ugarte’s asking price to approximately £49.8 million.

This valuation is much closer to Man Utd’s desire to pay for the out-of-favour Uruguayan with the Red Devils willing to pay around £46.4m (55 million euros). There still remains a £3m gap in valuation but that is something that can be worked out.

The revised PSG valuation of £49.8m sounds much more reasonable and it might be a matter of time before this deal is completed between all parties
