Man United prepare to push and sign £100m star who’s “better” than Fernandes – Report

Later tonight, Manchester United and Erik ten Hag will face Porto in the Europa League in a match that appears to be a must-win for both sides.

Despite strong support throughout the summer, the season’s first results have proved a cautionary tale.

Talented players like Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, Joshua Zirkzee, Manuel Ugarte, and Leny Yoro have joined the team. Ten Hag already has a lot of ideas for each player on the list, with the exception of the last name.

Even with the absence of on-field success, the team is still associated with promising possibilities. Man Utd are getting ready to push, according Team Talk.

Widely regarded as one of the best young English talents going around, the Eagles value the 20-year-old at around £100m. Palace are aware that they have a gem on their hands and want to make sure they make every penny out of his eventual sale.

Incidentally, back in the summer, former United player Paul Parker praised Wharton and said that he thinks the 20-year-old is better than Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes. Here is what he had to say:

“His range of passing is fantastic. He very rarely gives it away. He’s always positive with his passing as well. Very, very positive. I think he’s got a long range. His longer range of passing is good. Bruno’s is good, but I think he’s better. He doesn’t give the ball away as cheaply as Bruno.”

Wharton might have a ceiling higher than Bruno Fernandes but the two are very different players and comparing them would be like comparing apples to oranges. The two don’t even play in the same position, preferably.

Should Man Utd decide to sign Adam Wharton, he would be an excellent addition. It remains to be seen how much the Red Devils are ready to pay and what Palace finally agree on.
