Man United now interested and ready to sign £100million Bayer Leverkusen playmaker who is open to Old Trafford move -Report

Back in August, Manchester United opted to hand their captain, Bruno Fernandes, a new and lucrative deal.

Despite making 11 appearances across all competitions, the Portuguese international has been mediocre on the field this season and has yet to score.

As a result, it is not shocking to see Florian Wirtz mentioned in relation to Manchester United and other elite attacking midfield players.

Florian Plettenberg claims that the German international is wanted by the Red Devils, as well as by Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich.

Moving to Bayern is out of the question because the esteemed Sky journalist stated that Bayer Leverkusen would prefer to sell him overseas.

On the other hand, the Bundesliga champions see a move to Real Madrid next summer as unrealistic.

However, Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool offer tough competition to Manchester United as for now, the Premier League trio can offer much better sporting projects to Florian Wirtz as compared to the Old Trafford outfit.

Nevertheless, Fernandes has entered his 30s and is not performing at the top level for now. If he does not step up then United must sign a replacement and there are very few No.10s in the world that are better than the Leverkusen star.

Wirtz netted 18 goals and provided 20 assists in all competitions for Xabi Alonso last term as Die Werkself won the domestic double.

This term, so far, the 21-year-old playmaker, who is valued at around £99.9million, has directly contributed in 5 goals in 6 league starts. We can see him in action in a few hours against Frankfurt
