Man United have discussed a ‘surprise’ move for £40m-rated incredible England forward after Zirkzee’s transfer

Manchester United have reportedly held discussions over a potential move for Ivan Toney or Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer, according to The Athletic.

England international Ivan Toney is currently away with England at Euro 2024, while Everton’s Calvert-Lewin is back on Merseyside after Newcastle United pulled out of a potential move.

The Premier League pair aren’t the only attacking options, though. Joshua Zirkzee remains high on United’s list, and could well end up moving to Old Trafford if issues over a transfer fee from Bologna are resolved.

United already have Rasmus Hojlund leading the line, but the lack of backup for the Dane was a concern last season.

And, with Martial leaving at the expiry of his contract, attacking depth is even lower than at this point last year.
