Man United handed eight-word Adrien Rabiot transfer boost

Adrien Rabiot might be on his way to Manchester United two years on from almost sealing a transfer to Old Trafford after his mum made some telling comments

Adrien Rabiot’s mother has stated that the player’s camp is “on excellent terms” with Erik ten Hag’s side, which has given Manchester United a boost in their pursuit of the French star.

Veronique Rabiot’s mother, who represents him, disclosed that despite Rabiot’s previous rejection of Old Trafford, the Red Devils and Rabiot remained close after multiple failed attempts to sign with United.

However, there is no ill will from Rabiot’s camp with Veronique saying: “We are on excellent terms with Manchester United.”

Talking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, she said that United expressed a desire to sign Rabiot in the past, although she claimed money was never discussed after the player had a change of heart.

“United wanted to meet me to illustrate their interest in Adrien, but we never talked about money in detail because he quickly decided to stay in Turin,” she said in November 2023. “There were never any real negotiations.”
