Man United fans all saying same thing about Rasmus Hojlund Performance after Denmark winner vs Portugal, ‘incredible’ moment stands out
Rasmus Hojlund’s impact against Portugal in Thursday’s Nations League match sparked an immediate reaction from Manchester United supporters.
Several Manchester United players are currently on international duty during the March international break, including Rasmus Hojlund.
Despite his inconsistent 2024–25 season at Old Trafford, the 22-year-old Manchester United striker was included in Brian Riemer’s Denmark team.
Prior to ending his goalless streak in United’s 3-0 victory over Leicester City, Hojlund had gone an incredible 21 games without scoring.
The Denmark international broke the deadlock for United against Leicester City in the first half of the Premier League clash at the King Power Stadium last Sunday.
Hojlund has only managed to score three times in 24 Premier League matches for United this season and he has netted five times in 10 Europa League fixtures.
Denmark manager Brian Riemer had Monaco forward Mika Biereth leading the frontline against Portugal ahead of Hojlund for Thursday evening’s clash.
Mika Biereth was withdrawn in the 69th minute by Brian Riemer and Rasmus Hojlund came on the pitch with the scoreline at 0-0 between Denmark and Portugal.
Denmark welcomed Portugal to the Parken in Copenhagen for their first-leg Nations League quarter-final clash and Hojlund was the difference-maker on the night.
Only nine minutes after coming off the bench, Hojlund broke the deadlock for Denmark and Riemer’s men went on to clinch a 1-0 win on Thursday at the Parken.
Hojlund celebrated his opener in the first-leg tie by doing the iconic ‘si’ celebration of Cristiano Ronaldo while the Manchester United legend was still on the pitch.
United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, praised Hojlund for getting his “confidence” back after his crucial strike against Portugal.
However, Red Devils supporters were stunned at the “insane” moment that the Denmark international decided to use the celebration of Cristiano Ronaldo.
One X user wrote: “G’waarn [sic] Hojlund. Had a feeling he was going to score tonight. Long may it continue. On a side note, Ronaldo would’ve HATED that.”
“Hojlund strikes again,” another simply said.
Someone else commented: “My boy Hojlund scores against Portugal and does the siu celebration. I’m happy and sad [at the] same time. Life of a Manchester United fan.”
“Hojlund scores against Portugal and hits the SIUU [sic],” a fourth added.
Another United fan tweeted: “Hojlund[’s] confidence is back. Hope after the international break he will score more goals for United [when] he’s back.”
