I will join Man United one condition – Man Utd backed to sign Harry Kane who ‘will join Man Utd’ after Tottenham tactic but there’s a catch

Man Utd have been backed to land Harry Kane despite missing out on the Tottenham legend last summer.

Manchester United have been backed to finally sign long-linked striker target Harry Kane after Bayern Munich removed a crucial barrier – Tottenham Hotspur.

Erik ten Hag may still consider Kane when selecting a new goal scorer for the Red Devils this summer in order to supplement Rasmus Hojlund.

Last summer, the Dutchman had him as his top transfer target, but United promptly called off negotiations because Spurs owner Daniel Levy would not sell to a direct competitor.

Ten Hag started to focus on a player for the future, which led to Hojlund’s incredible £72 million move from Atalanta.

Unfairly, though, the 21-year-old has been the club’s top goalscorer this season out of all the attackers.

Anthony Martial, United’s only other natural striker, has once again been an injury liability and will leave on a free transfer once his contract expires in June.

So, a new striker to compete with Hojlund will likely come through the door in Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s first summer in charge of football operations at Old Trafford.

An experienced frontman who can push Hojlund as well as provide crucial wisdom may appeal. It’s unlikely another in the Denmark international’s age range will arrive.

Kane is astonishingly at risk of seeing his career-long trophy drought continue at Bayern this season, with Bayern Leverkusen marching towards a historic Bundesliga title.

But he hasn’t failed to deliver individually, scoring 33 goals in as many appearances for the Bavarians and helping down United in the Champions League group stage.

The England captain trails Alan Shearer by just 47 goals in the all-time Premier League goal chart, which caused surprise over his decision to move to Germany. But it has also left the door open to a return.

While a comeback after just one season is unlikely, West Ham United coach Kevin Nolan has confidently tipped United to finally seal Kane’s signature in the future.

“I can certainly see him back in the Premier League,” Nolan explained on talkSPORT.

“I don’t think Tottenham would have ever sold him to Manchester United. But for him to go to Bayern Munich, then it’s easier for him to come back from Germany, and I think Man United will be his destination.

I think they [Bayern] would want their money back. Of course [he is worth it]. 20-plus goals every season, and he was playing for Tottenham during them times as well. Realistically, are Man United as good as Tottenham?

“But I just think he brings a different aura to them anyway, a different aura to the team as soon as he puts the shirt on for whoever. I probably think Man United would be the one.”

Bayern splashed an initial £86m to sign Kane from Spurs in a deal that could rise to £100m, a fee United were unwilling to pay for a player who turns 31 this year.

If they demanded a similar price to offload their star striker, it could be a major stumbling block, given Financial Fair Play restrictions are set to tighten if the Red Devils miss out on Champions League football.

However, beyond this summer, Kane to United is a transfer link that is refusing to go away. Regardless, he appears very settled at the Allianz Arena for now.
