I love Chelsea but I would like to play for Man United – Timo Werner makes final transfer decision on January move to Man United

Timo Werner is prepared to stay at RB Leipzig and fight for his place in the side rather than move to Manchester United in January.

The former Chelsea forward has emerged as a shock target for United heading into the New Year.

United have reportedly enquired into the Germany international’s availability although no offer has been made with no negotiations taking place at this stage.

Werner spent two years at Chelsea before returning to his former club in August 2022.

Marcus Rashford, who scored 30 times last season, has scored just once this season with Anthony Martial scoring twice.

Hojlund missed the win at Goodison Park after suffering a hamstring injury prior to the international break in the win over Luton.

The Denmark international, along with Antony, were back in training on Tuesday ahead of United’s huge clash with Galatasaray, a game they must realistically win to stand a chance of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League.

United then head to Newcastle for another major test away from home. Eddie Howe’s side eliminated United from the Carabao Cup with a comprehensive 3-0 win at Old Trafford last month
