I like Arsenal and Man United but I prefer to join… – Arsenal lead race to sign Angel Gomes but player wants Manchester United return

Arsenal are reportedly leading the chase for Angel Gomes, and the England international could also consider a return to Manchester United.

Arsenal is supposedly leading the race for Angel Gomes, according to Caught Offside.

Numerous other English clubs are also showing interest in the recently capped England international.

He might be added by the Gunners to bolster their midfield, while the LOSC Lille star is also thinking about coming back to Manchester United.

Is Arsenal the team pursuing Angel Gomes? Given the uncertain futures of several of their present stars, Arsenal is expected to look for new midfield signings in the upcoming transfer windows.

Jorginho and Thomas Partey are in the last year of their contracts, and there are no plans to extend them.

The Gunners will target any further reinforcements in the region if they go, and they are connected to Angel Gomes.

Gomes has seen his stature rise ever since joining LOSC Lille from Manchester United on a free transfer. His recent call-up to the England senior side and subsequent debut will see suitors lining up for a move, especially considering he will be a free agent next summer.

Lille is trying to extend his contract until 2029, but the midfielder is not committing his future there, as a decision will be made later.

Arsenal are reportedly leading the chase and could see the 24-year-old midfielder’s addition on a free transfer or a cut-price move ideal.

Financially, they will save a lot and add a player on the rise. The report states they are leading the chase, although it fails to explain the basis of their claim, as more clubs like Aston Villa and Tottenham have been keen since the summer.

Tottenham are pondering a move for Gomes ahead of the January window, as they could offer a limited fee to tempt Lille into selling.

Newcastle United are also in the mix, and if the reports about Arsenal are accurate, then Gomes will have a hard think about signing an extension with Lille, given he could join a critical Premier League project as the next big step of his promising career.

Gomes ponders Manchester United return

As per Manchester Evening News, Gomes has given his green light to return to Old Trafford. Manchester United are reportedly pondering a move for the 24-year-old midfielder should they feel a space opening up in the area either in January or next summer.

Gomes has a similar profile to Kobbie Mainoo, which will make it difficult to integrate him. Those issues aside, adding Gomes will be a good decision that will improve their midfield.

Only the month of January will show what the midfielder plans for his future, as the 24-year-old could lean towards a return to England and even Manchester United
