Huge boost for Saints as Rashid Shaheed takes first major step towards return from serious injury

On both sides of the football field, the New Orleans Saints are coping with a number of difficult injuries.

Next season, one of the team’s most devoted offensive players is returning to the field in full strength.

Rashid Shaheed’s healing process After undergoing knee surgery earlier this season, Shaheed is now able to walk and move around without any problems.

Without a brace or any assistance from crutches or a boot, he is able to move around with ease.

Although Shaheed won’t be making a comeback this season, his initial steps are crucial. Since he is a vital offensive component of New Orleans’ future, a speedy recovery is crucial.

The speedster injured his knee against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 7 during a loss.

The wide receiver underwent meniscus surgery following that game and was placed on season-ending injured reserve. It was a tough break that hurt the unit immensely when it came to pushing the ball downfield.

Elsewhere in the wide receiver room, Chris Olave remains on injured reserve due to his second concussion of the season. We do not know if he will play again this season yet or not.

Kevin Austin Jr. and Marquez Valdez-Scantling have both emerged as pieces on the depth chart to complete this season. Bub Means is also on injured reserve due to injury, so his return is up in the air, too.

During the offseason, we will see how aggressive the Saints are in adding more depth to the WR room. Shaheed’s return will be an important one for next year
