Garnacho, Evans, Shaw, Martinez – Man United injury news and potential return dates ahead of Brentford following Liverpool FA Cup heroics

Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho of is embraced by Erik ten Hag,

Manchester United booked a place in the FA Cup semi-finals after a dramatic 4-3 win over Liverpool in extra-time.

Harry Maguire was named on the bench after returning from injury while Rasmus Hojlund was included in the starting XI.

The pair trained during the build-up to the match after sitting out the last few matches due to injury.

Although Erik ten Hag had stated that the game against Liverpool would come too soon for Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Mason Mount, the pair featured at Old Trafford. Wan-Bissaka started in defence and Mount replaced Victor Lindelof during extra-time.

Alejandro Garnacho

What we know: Garnacho’s brother revealed on social media in the aftermath of the Liverpool game that the winger had only trained for two days this week because of a hamstring injury. On X, now Twitter, he wrote:

“Garnacho has trained two days this week due to a hamstring injury, still, he is there running 120 minutes and giving the winning assist, I’m proud of you BIG BRO.”

Altay Bayindir
Injury: Muscular.

Expected return date: March 30 vs Brentford (A).

Jonny Evans
Injury: Knock.

Expected return date: March 30 vs Brentford (A).

What Ten Hag has said: “We had two players on the pitch, they were not 100 per cent, Jonny Evans and Marcus Rashford, and they gave everything, as the whole team gave everything. I can’t tell you [if they will miss matches]. Finally they had to come off, but I [would have] preferred to keep them.”

Lisandro Martinez
Injury: Knee.
