Euros 2024 finalist and England Striker ready to secure Man United move after drop in £90million valuation by Club
According to Football Insider, Brentford star Ivan Toney is pushing to secure a move to Manchester United after the Bees have lowered his valuation from £90m to £60m.
During his international duties with the Three Lions at the Euros, the 28-year-old English striker’s team lost to Spain in the championship game.
His best performance occurred in the Round of 16 encounter against Slovakia, when he was substituted in due to an injury and helped Harry Kane win the match in extra time.
With his ice-cold technique, he also converted his penalty in the shootout against Switzerland.
With only a year left on his deal, Brentford has come to the realization that if they don’t sell their star striker this summer, they might lose him for nothing, which lowers his value.
Ivan Toney has since informed his buddies that, should they make an offer, he would adore joining Manchester United this summer.
What Toney brings to the table is unique. He is not the traditional number nine only concerned about scoring goals.
The English striker does much more than just that, dropping deep, linking up play and often acting as a creative force.
Even until a week ago, this is a signing that would have made a lot of sense. Toney is 28 and has proven Premier League pedigree. Considering we have Rasmus Hojlund in the squad who is very young, bringing in Toney with experience might have been ideal. However, the situation has changed.
Manchester United announced that they have signed Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna, another young striker. Making a move for Toney with two strikers already in the squad doesn’t make sense, especially considering we have other positions on the field that need reinforcements.
