Final NY Jets injury report for Week 16 is best-case scenario for Breece Hall

Breece Hall is finally healthy again.

After weeks of dealing with a knee issue, NY Jets running back Breece Hall is off the injury report for the first time since the team’s Week 11 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

This comes ahead of Sunday’s game. Hall’s surgically repaired knee was injured in Week 11 and, although he was able to play in Week 13 after the Jets’ bye week, it was obvious that he wasn’t fully recovered.

Hall was on the field for a season-low 48 percent of offensive snaps with the Jets, but they sat him out the next week until he returned this past Sunday.

Hall might, however, be able to handle his typical workload this week. Hall participated fully in practice.

The Jets have ruled out cornerback Michael Carter II with a back injury for their Week 16 game against the Rams.

Carter has been dealing with the back injury since Week 4 and hasn’t played more than 37 percent of snaps in a game since October.

The standout nickel cornerback has tried to play through the injury all season, but it might be best to shut him down at this point. Isaiah Oliver and Kendall Sheffield are the most likely candidates to fill in at nickel corner with Carter out.

The Jets have also listed four players as questionable for Sunday’s game, most notably All-Pro defensive tackle Quinnen Williams. Williams exited Week 15 with a hamstring injury and did not practice at all this week.

Despite not practicing, the Jets are optimistic that Williams will be able to play this weekend. Javon Kinlaw, Solomon Thomas, and rookie Leonard Taylor III are the other defensive tackles on the active roster.

Nose tackle Leki Fotu is listed as questionable with a knee injury and is eligible to return from the injured reserve. The Jets have an open spot on their 53-man roster after placing Jalen Mills on IR. Fotu could be activated before Sunday’s game.

Running back Braelon Allen is questionable with a back injury he suffered in Week 15. Allen was a limited participant on Wednesday and Thursday but was upgraded to a full participant on Friday, suggesting he will be able to play on Sunday.

Starting right guard Alijah Vera-Tucker is questionable with an ankle injury. Vera-Tucker was a limited participant in practice on Thursday and a full participant on Friday. He is expected to play this week.

Cornerback D.J. Reed does not have an injury designation and was a full participant in practice this week. He will make his return on Sunday after missing last week’s game
