Viktor Gyokeres sends emotional five-word message to Ruben Amorim as he arrives at Man United ahead of possible summer transfer

Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres has thanked Ruben Amorim after the Portuguese head coach officially joined Manchester United on Monday.

The Swede was purchased by Amorim from Championship team Coventry City in July 2023 for £20 million.

This venture has been successful, since Gyokeres has turned into a lucky charm for the Portuguese team.

The 26-year-old scored 66 goals in just 68 games, including a hat-trick against Manchester City in the Champions League last week.

Rumors about Amorim’s intentions to maybe reconnect with the striker in the Premier League have increased as a result of this form. Notably, Arsenal has been pursuing Gyokeres since the summer transfer window.

Since Amorim has previously ruled out the idea of acquiring any Sporting players during the January transfer window, any action would be in the summer transfer window

However, the striker did not miss the opportunity to wish Amorim well as the 39-year-old begins his new chapter in the Premier League. Taking to Instagram, Gyokeres shared three photos with his old boss with the caption: “Thank you for everything mister.”

Amorim’s first day at Carrington was one of major changes as he wasted no time laying the groundwork for his tenure. Ruud van Nistelrooy was among the notable departures from the coaching staff with the Portuguese appearing to appoint five coaches to his team – Carlos Fernandes, Adelio Candido, Paulo Barreira, Emanuel Ferro, and Jorge Vital
