Marcus Rashford to Barcelona – Hansi Flick ‘requests’ transfer swoop for Man United winger after failed Nico Williams pursuit

Hansi Flick has requested Barcelona to sign Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford after failing to land Nico Williams.

The Barcelona Boss has made it plain that he wants a left winger in his lineup who can both score and dribble ever since taking over Barcelona.

Williams from Athletic Club was therefore a goal for the Catalan giants earlier this summer, and they intensified their chase of him after the winger was instrumental in Spain’s victory at Euro 2024.

It appears, nevertheless, that Athletic Club is reluctant to let go of their star winger this summer.

Williams is unlikely to join the team, so the Blaugrana have found other options, such as France’s Kingsley Coman and Bayern Munich’s out-of-favor attacker.

Another unexpected name that has appeared on their shortlist is Marcus Rashford of Manchester United. Reporter Albert Fernandez claims that Flick has asked the team to sign the English winger.

The 26-year-old’s form has come under the scanner in recent times after a terrible outing in the 2023-24 campaign where he managed to score just eight goals and provide six assists across all competitions.

His poor form led to his ouster from the England squad that travelled to Germany for Euro 2024.

In the current season, the attacker has featured in both the matches the Red Devils have played thus far and his performances in those games have been far from convincing.

The Catalan club are yet to submit a formal offer for the Three Lions star and it remains to be seen if they will consider a move for the player before the summer window closes.

Rashford will be next seen in action for Erik ten Hag’s side on Saturday as they take on Brighton in the Premier League
