Man United eyeing shock £30m England star to partner Kobbie Mainoo in midfield
Manchester United are closely looking to bring in an England international to partner Kobbie Mainoo in midfield
CaughtOffside claims that Manchester United are closely Monitoring Adam Wharton having only signed for Crystal Palace in January. Prior to that, the midfielder was at Blackburn Rovers.
Since graduating from the United academy, Mainoo has been a staple in the midfield, although he hasn’t established a consistent partner. But Wharton might have the solution.
The 20-year-old, who is just somewhat older than Mainoo and is a skilled left-footer with box-to-box ability, may be a great addition to his England teammate as the Red Devils attempt to lay a strong foundation for the upcoming decade.
According to CaughtOffside’s source, Wharton might simply be a backup plan.
Although Benfica, Joao Neves’s employers, are refusing to budge from their demands, he is thought to be the top target.
There is a roughly €120 million release clause for the Portuguese superstar.
The only issue is that Wharton has basically only just signed at Selhurst Park, and with Michael Olise having already left this summer, the Eagles will be reluctant to do business over another one of their upcoming stars.
Wharton is worth €30m, according to Transfermarkt. His contract runs until 2029
