Man United given green light to seal £85m deal to sign ‘outstanding’ Napoli striker as Rasmus Hojlund competition

Man United have rarely struggled to convince the game’s best players to join them despite their continued lack of success over the years.

Paul Pogba, Casemiro, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Raphael Varane were all recently signed by the team thanks to Man United’s allure.

They signed one of Europe’s top goalkeepers, Mason Mount, to leave his childhood club, Chelsea, and brought in Andre Onana last summer.

Erik ten Hag’s team will be strengthened once again this year, with several areas in need of improvement.

This summer, a new center defender, left back, central midfielder, and forward have all been identified as top priorities.

This month marks the beginning of pre-season, which will help prepare ready for the pivotal 2024–2025 season.

Osimhen green light
Manchester United have never struggled to sign big players despite their continued lack of dominance in football. This summer, Victor Osimhen could be the next big player to move to Old Trafford.

According to reports from MEN Sport understands that United have not ruled out the possibility of allowing Marcus Rashford to leave amid a slight adjustment to the forward’s representation.

Rashford’s brother, Dwaine Maynard, has held discussions with an agency to potentially assist in managing the England international.

While the preference would be keen to keep Rashford, his sale would free-up millions in wages and inject the club’s books with pure profit as he is classed as an academy graduate.

Should he leave, it would make United financially stronger to sign Osimhen,

MEN Sport says: “If it went down to Rashford or Osimhen, I would say there is an argument for both cases.

In Rashford’s corner, he has proved his quality in the past and will have a huge point to prove next season after his England snub.

“However, Osimhen would solve a number of problems in United’s team. A proven goalscorer who has been wanted by Europe’s top clubs for some time, his arrival would be another marquee signing for United.

“If the deal was as simple as United letting Rashford leave and Osimhen signs, I think many would accept that. However, I think there’s more than enough reason to entrust Rashford and allow him to show his class.”
