Man United handed transfer boost as they can still sign £15m striker that outshone Harry Kane in the Bundesliga this season

Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea could battle for the signature of a bargain buy this summer.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea will be able to prise Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy away from the Bundesliga for just £15million this summer due to a release clause in his contract.

The 28-year-old enjoyed a scintillating campaign in Germany and outshone former Tottenham ace Harry Kane at the start of the season as he broke a Robert Lewandowski goalscoring record.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has already branded Man Utd star as ‘arrogant’
Guirassy joined Stuttgart from Rennes in an initial loan deal two years ago, before making the transfer permanent last summer.

And the move paid off in sensational style as Guirassy scored a record-breaking 14 goals in his first eight Bundesliga games of the 2023/24 campaign.

Prolific goalscorer Lewandowki previously netted 12 goals in the first eight league matches of the 2019/20 season while plying his trade for Bayern Munich, while Harry Kane only managed to find the back of the net nine times in his first eight Bundesliga appearances after moving to the Allianz Arena from Tottenham last summer.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Guirassy’s release clause will be valid this summer, with Premier League clubs already showing an interest. And teams are expected to start their bidding for the Guinea international in July.

Guirassy, who featured for his country at the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year but failed to get on the scoresheet, went on to finish eight goals shy of Kane in the race for the Bundesliga Golden Boot after scoring 28 goals in 28 appearances.

But Guirassy’s strikes were enough to propel Stuttgart to second in the table behind champions Bayer Leverkusen, with Munich finishing third.

According to Sky Germany, Borussia Dortmund are now aiming to beat Premier League clubs to Guirassy’s signature as they have made him a priority signing for the summer. But Stuttgart chairman Alexander Wehrle has explained to the outlet that the player is happy where he is.
