Almost Done! – Great news for fans as Fabrizio Romano gives latest transfer update on Andre Onana to Man United with deal to be sealed in next few hours

Fabrizio Romano says a ‘crucial’ 24 hours are upcoming in the Manchester United pursuit of Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.

Since the end of last week we have heard Manchester United’s move is imminent, with talks ongoing between the two clubs

The confirmation of David de Gea’s exit from Old Trafford was expected to accelerate the Onana move.

It hasn’t quite happened yet, but according to Fabrizio Romano, Thursday (today) could be the breakthrough day.

Andre Onana latest
Fabrizio Romano reports via Twitter that progress is expected between the two clubs as they seek to thrash out a deal.

He wrote: “Understand Thursday is the crucial day to make André Onana deal happen. Man United and Inter will speak tomorrow

“#MUFC Optimism remains after negotiations in last hours — after some tense moment. Next 24h will be very important for this deal, as expected since last week.”

Romano has been consistent with this throughout the week, calling the timeframe for a deal mid to late week, rather than expecting it to go through on Monday or Tuesday.

Dean Henderson was left behind as he looks to return to full fitness, with The Telegraph reporting he is expected to be sold to Nottingham Forest.

United won’t be held to ransom
A separate report in The Sun claims Manchester United are ready to walk away if Inter Milan are unreasonable in their demands.

It claims United would then turn to Dean Henderson to start the season as number one, which explains why he has not been sold yet, he is the club’s insurance cover, essentially.

We expect United will do the deal with Inter, and this is just posturing. Both clubs have come a long way to get to this point to walk away, and Onana is set on a deal and has agreed personal terms, Romano reports
