Man united Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd set to SIGN four free agents today before 2pm as Anthony and Sancho replacements

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag could make a late move for a free agent.

Manchester United have until 2pm today if they are going to sign any free agents. Anwar El Ghazi has been linked with a move to Old Trafford but there are other options who would be better than the former Aston Villa star

Erik ten Hag is set to have a limited number of attacking resources in the coming weeks. Jadon Sancho is in the middle of a war of words with his manager and looks set to leave the club in January.

The pair have been unable to settle their differences in crunch talks this week. Antony, meanwhile, has been given an indefinite leave of absence following a number of allegations of abuse against women

El Ghazi had his contract cancelled by PSV Eindhoven last week and the Mail claims he has been considered as a shock option by Ten Hag. That move was not successful and he has become a free agent again. He has been training with West Ham and the Hammers could re-sign him but a move back to Old Trafford may be more tempting.

Ayew had a short spell at Nottingham Forest in the second half of last season. He didn’t score in his 13 Premier League appearances but has now played over 100 times in the English top flight in his career.

Ayew is the Ghana captain, so would also bring leadership to the United dressing room. He turns 34 in December, though, so would only be a short-term emergency option.

Oussama Idrissi

Morocco winger Idrissi left Sevilla at the end of last season. Much of his time in Spain was spent out on loan, including a brief spell under Ten Hag at Ajax in 2021.

Idrissi would also know new United signing Sofyan Amrabat well from international level. He is only 27 so is the youngest on this list
