Champions League: Man United announce their 25-man Champions League starting XI squad ahead of the group stage but £40m flop is LEFT OUT
Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek may leave the club this month
He has been linked with a move away and Galatasaray remain interested in him
The competition will get underway later this month, with United drawn alongside fellow giants Bayern Munich as well as Copenhagen and Galatasaray.
Summer arrivals Rasmus Hojlund, Andre Onana, Sergio Reguilon, Sofyan Amrabat and Altay Bayindir have all made the cut along with the bulk of the first-team crop.
Mason Mount, meanwhile, is on the association-trained list with Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Jadon Sancho, despite the latter’s future being unclear.
Jonny Evans, who has signed on for the season as a back-up centre back eight years after bringing an end to his lengthy first spell, features on the club-trained list.

But there is no room for midfielder Van de Beek, however.
The 26-year-old, signed from Ajax in 2020, has not been named in a matchday squad this season and his nightmare stint at Old Trafford looks set to come to an end.
According to reports, a deadline day move to Lorient collapsed over his attitude. Van de Beek is said to have refused to hold talks with them earlier in the window.
Nevertheless, despite this United are still actively working to offload him.
The Turkish window may represent an escape and, as reported by Mail Sport, Galatasaray are interested. Negotiations are understood to be ongoing.
Should Galatasaray wish to sign Van de Beek, they will have until September 15 to seal the deal, with their deadline scheduled over two weeks later than England’s.
Van de Beek’s time at United has been blighted by an array of injuries, an unsuccessful loan switch to Everton and a failure to impress each of his managers.
Even Erik ten Hag, who worked with Van de Beek at Ajax, failed to inspire him toward a turnaround in form, with numerous other midfield options preferred over him.
United will also submit a B List of players prior to each Champions League fixture. This group will include the likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo
