Victor Osimhen to Man United ‘update’ as transfer could be completed ‘as soon as possible’
According to sources, Manchester United wants to sign Victor Osimhen before Chelsea does during the January transfer window.
According to Swiss outlet Sky Sports, Osimhen’s arrival at Old Trafford could be facilitated by the sale of Marcus Rashford.
According to the source, United is already “in contact” with the player’s agent and will have “no trouble” coming to a personal deal with Osimhen.
But United can run into trouble when negotiating with Napoli. According to reports, the Serie A team is asking for up to €75 million (£62.34 million) in order to sell the player in January.
Osimhen is currently on a season long loan with Turkish side Galatasaray. But there is a clause in his loan deal that allows him to be recalled by Napoli if they reach an agreement to sell him during the January transfer window.
It is added that while United are interested in a deal, any arrival of Osimhen would have to be compensated by ‘significant departures’ from Old Trafford during the January window. Ruben Amorim is also said to be keen to strengthen in midfield and left-back.
Elsewhere, it is reported that United are ready to ‘take advantage’ of Theo Hernandez’s situation at AC Milan. MilanLive reports that despite attempts to renew his contract at the club, there has been no progress and with his deal expiring in 18-months time, United are ready to pounce.
The report adds that the ‘chances that Hernandez will say goodbye to Milan, as of today, are very high’. The 27-year-old has been a key player for Milan this season, but was, surprisingly, an unused substitute for the recent Serie A match vs Genoa.
