Transfer news: Jim Ratcliffe steps in after Jadon Sancho refuses to apologise to Erik ten Hag as he sends emotional message to fans

Ineos chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s £1.3billion deal for a minority stake in Manchester United is expected to be approved imminently – and several players are expected to be moved on

Jadon Sancho is one of the Manchester United players Sir Jim Ratcliffe is planning to move on in the New Year.

The Ineos chief, 71, has struck a £1.3billion deal for a minority stake in the club with the Glazers and will assume control of sporting operations once said agreement is ratified at a board meeting.

Ratcliffe’s deal is expected to be confirmed imminently, meaning significant structural changes could soon be afoot at Old Trafford.

Sancho hit back at those claims via social media, branding them “untrue”. The 23-year-old subsequently refused to apologise to Ten Hag after the row, with the Dutchman taking the decision to banish him from the first-team picture.

But with Sancho showing no signs of backing down, it’s anticipated that United will field enquiries for the forward who cost them £73million back in the summer of 2021
