“Ten Hag, we are coming!” – Watch Thomas Muller sends Warning message to Erik ten Hag after Bayern are set to face Man united in the Champions League after Brighton loss
Thomas Muller is looking forward to facing ‘force in world football’ Manchester United in the Champions League after the blockbuster draw on Thursday.
Bayern and United were drawn together in Group A alongside FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray, setting up an early return to England for Harry Kane after he moved to the German giants from Tottenham over the summer.
Clearly the German and English sides are the clear favourites to progress to the knockout stages, but Muller is excited for the high profile clash between the heavyweights.
The veteran forward also notes that Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag has experience at Bayern, having coached the club’s reserve side from 2013-15.
‘We are happy that the Champions League is starting again,’ said Muller after the draw. ‘Prestigious duels and three clubs from top cities await us.
‘Manchester United is a force in world football. In Erik ten Hag, they have a former Bayern Amateurs coach. Copenhagen and Galatasaray have exciting teams.
‘The midweek games are the icing on the cake in our schedule.’
Reacting to the draw on Instagram, Kane wrote: ‘Can’t wait for this.’
Newcastle were undoubtedly handed the toughest group of any of the Premier League sides, thrown into Group F alongside Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan.
Arsenal will take on Sevilla, PSV and Lens, while Manchester City play RB Leipzig, Red Star Belgrade and Young Boys.
