Roy Keane says Brilliant Man utd star can win the Europa League for The reds vs Spurs with ‘bit of magic’

Manchester United suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat against Chelsea in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge yesterday.

The Red Devils had a superb start against the Blues and were impressive with their high pressing.

However, they could not sustain it after the interval. The hosts grew in confidence before scoring the winner through Marc Cucurella.

Bruno Fernandes was once more the shining light for the Red Devils. He delivered a fabulous cross for Harry Maguire in the opening half.

Maguire found the back of the net, but he was marginally offside, as per VAR.

The Portuguese showed terrific intensity until he was substituted. He could have a huge role to play against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final on Wednesday.

Fernandes has bagged three goals and two assists against Spurs from his previous 11 meetings. His creativity will be vital to United’s Europa League success at San Mames.

United legend Roy Keane has been critical of Fernandes over the course of the campaign, but he has now admitted that the 30-year-old could be the game-changer

Speaking on Sky Sports after United’s 1-0 loss at Chelsea, Keane said he would fancy United over Spurs due to their history of winning big finals over the years.

He added to mention Fernandes, and acknowledged that the Red Devils captain can produce ‘that bit of magic’ to get United over the line against Spurs in Bilbao.

Keane said: “You still have to fancy United, someone like Bruno can produce, the history of Manchester United still carries a little bit of weight.”

“There’s not much between them [in the league] but come the crunch, come the final, United’s history in finals, them winning cups the last few years.

“You’d like to think they would have a bit more knowledge around the game than Spurs.

“That might edge it for them, and I think Bruno can produce that bit of magic.”

Fernandes, described as ‘brilliant‘ by teammate Casemiro, has had another solid season with 19 goals and 19 assists from 55 games in all competitions.
