Paul Pogba transfer admission made amid Man Utd links – ‘We will make space’
Marseille boss Roberto De Zerbi admits he will “try and find space” for champion players amid links with Paul Pogba.
After his drug sentence completed and Juventus decided to terminate his contract, the French midfielder is now without a club.
It indicates that the former Manchester United player is looking for a new job and that a return to his own country has been suggested.
Despite De Zerbi’s impressive summer performance at Marseille, the former Champions League winners are still far behind PSG at home and will require more talent to catch up.
The former Brighton manager has stated that he wants to bring in players with winning experience when he makes his next move in the transfer window in January.
Pogba, who has won multiple league titles, has his name checked, but the club’s executives have not talked about signing him.
“In January, we especially need to find players for the needs we have. Obviously, if champions arrive, we will try to find space and make sure they can live together. That would absolutely not be a problem for me. When you have top players, it’s not my problem but that of the opponents.”
Pogba, now 31, has his doubters with many believing he is yet to become the player he was once tipped to be. His United spell was littered with inconsistent performances but he insists he’s more motivated than ever to make an impact
He told Sky Sports: “I don’t want to lose the level I am at. If I can surpass it, this is what I want. I’m still the same player but with a different hunger. I am more motivated. I am more hungry. I will appreciate the game more than before after it was taken away from me. I realised how important it was for me.”
Pogba, himself a World Cup winner, also has an eye on performing once again for Les Blues but acknowledged the fight he has ahead og him. He said: “I hope. It is in my mind for sure. I have to be ready for that. There are players who deserve to play and I have to win my place back. I am ready to fight.”
