Paul Pogba ‘offered Surprise Man United return’ as Jim Ratcliffe sent transfer message
After serving an 18-month ban, Paul Pogba is now seeking to resume his career, and Louis Saha, a former teammate from United and France, thinks that training with Manchester United would be crucial to his success.
According to former Manchester United player Louis Saha, Paul Pogba will be given the opportunity to train with the team in 2025 as he gets ready to serve out the remainder of his football ban.
After failing a drug test and receiving a four-year sentence that was ultimately lowered to 18 months, the former Juventus player has not played since the summer of last year.
He can sign with a new team in January, but he won’t be able to play again until March. He formally departed from the Serie A team.
After declaring “the nightmare is over” in October, Pogba will now be looking to resurrect his career and his former United and France team-mate Saha believes the chance to train with United would be huge for his comeback.
He told Casino Utan Spelpaus : “I’ve heard some rumours that Paul Pogba will be offered the opportunity to come back and train with Man Utd in the New Year, and I think that would be a great opportunity for Paul.
“He needs to get back to his best level as quickly as possible, and training with top players will help him to do that. I think he would be thrilled to have the opportunity to go back to the club.”
Saha wants United to re-sign Pogba for a third time after initially coming through their youth system before joining Juventus. He then returned to Old Trafford for £89million in 2016 but failed to justify his price tag. He played 226 times for United in his second spell but struggled with inconsistency and often came under fire from fans and pundits
Saha feels Ruben Amorim is lacking a technically sound box-to-box midfielder after watching his old side struggle in recent games and urged chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe to take a chance on the Frenchman as a free agent.
“I also think that Paul Pogba is still a very special player. When you think about midfielders, Pogba has unique qualities. I think the United squad lacks power in the midfield, and we’re missing a skilful player that can play box-to-box, so he would be a good addition (to the United squad) because he’s a different profile of player to what United have.
“When I look at Pogba, I think that many teams in the Premier League would find signing him as a free agent an attractive proposition. Forget about the salary, I’m sure Paul is ready to find a compromise on that as he wants to play football again after such a long time on the sidelines.
“When I think about Pogba, there are more positives with signing him than there are negatives, and I think he’s a player that should interest Manchester United in January.”
