Paul Pogba drops Shock new transfer hint as Man United feelings clear

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is on the lookout for a new club with his ban from professional football now over.

The Frenchman has been a free agent since his contract with Juventus was terminated back in November. He has since been linked with several clubs, including a third spell at United, but is yet to put pen-to-paper on any deal

Pogba was originally handed a four-year ban from football back in February 2024 after testing positive for banned substance.

That ban was reduced to 18-months on appeal, starting from September 2023, meaning that he is now free to play again.

The 32-year-old is currently training out in Miami as he awaits his next opportunity. On Saturday, which was also the midfielder’s 32nd birthday, he was spotted in attendance at Los Angeles FC’s (LAFC) MLS match against Austin, with the home team falling to a 1-0 loss.

Both during and after the match, LAFC’s official X (formerly Twitter) account shared videos showing Pogba in attendance. First, he met former France teammate Oliver Giroud.

A second video shared after the match shows him greeting another former international teammate Hugo Lloris, before having a chat with both him and Giroud.

Pogba’s attendance at the match, as well as his training in Miami has led to speculation over he could move to the MLS. LAFC, LA Galaxy and Inter Miami have all previously been linked with the former United man

The fact he was in attendance at LAFC and has friends in the squad could potentially hint at a move to Los Angeles. It is however said that MLS wage structure rules would mean that Pogba is likely to have to take a wage cut should he wish to move to an American club.

In an interview in 2024, Pogba was asked if he missed United during his period away from football and made his feelings clear.

“Truly, I had so many problems,” he told Sky Sports. “I didn’t have time to think of Manchester United. I needed to get rid of all my problems and play.

“I watch Manchester United and still have teammates there. They are still one of the biggest clubs in the world – but I wasn’t thinking about more stuff.”
